Example Content: In this IAP offering, we frame divination as the drive to ask questions, to seek guidance and advice, to build stories and nourishing narrative frameworks. Considering new and evolving analog and digital divination "technologies" we'll examine what divination could look like for the future. 

Divination need not be considered solely an attempt to see the future; rather these practices are social rituals and narrative-generating activities that actively create opportunities for self-reflection and exploration in personal and public contexts.  As such, they offer new modes for practitioners to create and share immersive and interactive narratives. We are particularly interested in how within digital and analog environments, working with chance-based systems such as tarot can create opportunities for story building, performative practices, art-making and public empathy generation.

This IAP will provide an opportunity for participants to experience a sense of their own agencies, play with temporality and identities, and practice resistance or resilience. In this short series of sessions, we will explore the old, the new, and the yet to come in divination. We will use and critique, explore and question various systems and work in small groups or solo to create prototypes or propose tweaks to divinatory methods that provide a window what the future of such practices holds, divining perhaps the next century’s tools and methods for divination.
